Scott Fridkin, MD, is the Director of Antimicrobial Stewardship Research at Emory Healthcare and a Professor of Medicine (Infectious Diseases) and Epidemiology. Dr. Fridkin’s primary clinical/scholarly focus is preventing healthcare-associated antibiotic resistant infections and improving antibiotic prescribing among healthcare providers, through novel techniques and collaborations involving public health academic partnerships. Recent work has focused on improving metrics of antibiotic resistance surveillance, improving the use of surveillance data for action, and improving the sharing of information between healthcare facilities to reduce transmission of antibiotic resistant infections.
